Heal Home Front with Green Words
Everyone knows homes can be enhanced with green cleaning products, natural fiber options for bed and bath, and sustainable decor such as plants and water gardens. But words? When did words go green? In truth, words have always been green, because language grows and adapts and changes to meet people’s needs. And like everything else, words – both spoken and written – have vibrations. Which explains why a touching story or a song resonates with you.
Consider the straightforwardness of Albert Einstein’s thoughts on the use of frequency to attain change: “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” In short, affirmations can be put to use to focus on what we wish to create more of in our home environments.
So how do you employ words to soothe, protect, or promote detoxification of your home? It is simpler than you may think.
An easy way to promote joy in your home is to find the areas that are cluttered, cramped, or stagnant and create an opposite, favorable response. The response gets turned into an affirmation.
For example, if you walk into a kitchen and see plants that have not been watered and look limp in dry soil, you would probably feel sad and want to revive them. The problem noted is access to water from the kitchen tap, but lack of water in the plant’s pot. Instead of saying, “My plants are dying!” reply with the opposite form of wording to encourage growth: “My plants thrive when I care for them! They grow healthier each day!” With the words come the action needed to turn the situation around so the plants go from wilting to blooming with a watering as a result of the necessary care. When you feel more in control of a situation, then a mental shift comes. It becomes more and more enjoyable to spend time in the kitchen reflecting on the plants. Then, move on to another room to work on other areas of concern.
